I'm Pershail Catherine Young, author of Rusty and Mr. Earlie.

About the Author
She has been providing care for her 97 year old father for several years who has dementia. Her experiences of dealing with her dad, working with caregivers, and providing him companionship through the adoption of her beloved dog has created a bond and unique learning experience as she observes the interactions of her father with others. She has a B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a Master of Arts in Human Development from the University of Maryland College Park. She works in the field of administration at the university level.

About my latest book, Rusty and Mr. Earlie

This book is to help children (and others as well) with a message to understand what is happening when they see “unusual or strange” things happening with people who have dementia--when grandma or grandpa come to stay with them because they can't stay home alone any longer, when they go to visit someone in the hospital or when they even see a stranger on the street who doesn't seem normal. Children will be able to see through the eyes of man's best friend, Rusty, that we all can be supportive, understanding, patient and be a wonderful companion or friend to someone with dementia.
